Energy Audit of JSC “Apa Canal Leova” Water Supply and Sanitation infrastructure
Brief information on the project:
VTG SYNERGY has been selected by the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) to carry out a comprehensive Energy Audit of the Water Supply and Sanitation (WSS) infrastructure of JSC “Apa Canal Leova”, as part of the “Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova” (SBC) project. The SBC project is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), co-funded by the European Union and the Swiss Government, and implemented by GIZ. It aims to improve the socio-economic prospects of Moldovan communities, with a particular focus on rural areas and vulnerable groups, including women, Roma communities, and persons with disabilities. Within this framework, the energy audit is a crucial step to ensure efficient and sustainable delivery of WSS services in the Leova rayon, where the regional water operator is expanding its coverage to serve 11–15 additional localities.
Our involvement:
- Conduct detailed field inspections and technical surveys of the existing WSS infrastructure.
- Analyze energy consumption patterns across the water supply and wastewater systems.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose tailored Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs).
- Evaluate the financial and technical feasibility of energy efficiency solutions.
- Deliver an investment-grade Energy Audit Report aligned with Moldovan legislation (Law No. 139/2018 and Government Decision No. 829/2024).
- Support local authorities and Apa Canal Leova in making informed decisions to reduce energy costs and environmental impact.
