EcoVoucher Appliance Study .
Brief information on the project:
VTG SYNERGY has been awarded a new contract by GIZ Moldova under the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies for Moldova (E4M)
project, financed by the German Government and co-financed by the European Union, Norway and Denmark. The assignment involves
conducting a comprehensive EcoVoucher Appliance Study, a critical component in supporting Moldova’s energy transition and
reducing energy poverty among vulnerable households.
The EcoVoucher Programme, implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), provides targeted financial support to
help households replace outdated and energy-inefficient appliances with new, energy-saving alternatives. The current study aims to
evaluate and recommend additional household appliances for potential inclusion in the next rounds of the programme.
Our involvement:
- Reviewing international best practices in appliance replacement programmes.
- Analyzing current household energy usage patterns and the appliance market in Moldova.
- Assessing installation, maintenance, and cost implications for new appliances.
- Identifying household-level factors influencing energy consumption.
- Estimating the potential energy, cost, and CO₂ savings of proposed measures.
- Delivering final recommendations to CNED and policy stakeholders.
The findings will contribute to improving the design, targeting, and impact of Moldova’s EcoVoucher Programme, aligning it with the country’s broader energy efficiency and climate objectives.
